We serve freshly prepared, nutritious, Kosher meals to active Allegheny County residents. Enjoy your meal with friends and make new acquaintances. To join us for our in-person lunch you must be 60+ years old, an Allegheny County resident and registered with AgeWell.

Monthly Menu for J Cafe in South Hills

Kosher-style Tuesday - Thursday

J Cafe at the JCC Squirrel Hill

Lunch will be served between 11 AM – 1 PM, Monday through Friday, in the J Cafe. We are closed on various holidays. A donation of $1.50 is suggested though no one who is eligible is turned away.

Registration: Please call our office or simply stop by the AgeWell office, #201, to inquire about registration. Registration is completed in the AgeWell office. Make sure bring proof of age and residence. State ID or drivers license preferred.

Reserve Your Lunch:
By Phone: Once you are a registered participant, please call to reserve your lunch by 4 PM the business day before the day you want to have lunch, and on Friday by 4 pm to reserve for Monday.

  • To reserve lunch for the day following a JCC closure (for holidays etc.), please call the phone line by 4 pm on the business day immediately before the closed day.

The JCC is under the supervision of the VAAD.

J Cafe at the JCC South Hills

Low cost kosher style Grab-and-Go lunches for registered South Hills AgeWell members are available 12:30-1:30 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. Lunch costs $3 for Registered South Hills AgeWell Members. Seating options are available for participants to enjoy their meal with friends.


Reserve Your Lunch:
Punch Pass: The fee is paid through a cashless, electronic system called Punch Pass. Punch Passes can be purchased by visiting our new AgeWell Office, giving us a call, or stopping by the South Hills JCC Front Desk.

  • Once you have your Punch Pass, you can sign up for lunch up to three days before your visit until 12 pm the day before your lunch pickup using the “JCC Pittsburgh” app (also on the JCCPGH website HERE) or by calling our office. Menu is subject to change.

By Phone: For lunch reservations by phone, call us until 12 pm the day before your lunch pickup; leave a message with your name and day(s) for lunch.
