programs and activities

Young children are active participants in JCC life. Our Early Childhood Development Centers in Squirrel Hill and the South Hills provide enriched early education and child care programs for children from infancy to five years old. Families with young children can find activities and community through JCC and PJ Library programming in Squirrel Hill and in the South Hills.

The JCC offers programs and events that enrich our community of families and children. Programs are provided after school, like our After School Clubhouse, as well as on school days off, like our J Days. We provide parents with peace of mind and children of all ages with interesting activities, appropriate supervision and lots of fun in our excellent facilities.

The JCC offers enrichment classes in science, arts and technology. Children can participate in professionally produced musicals and learn video game design, sample a yoga class or learn cooking skills.

The JCC offers programming in the mainstream of the Jewish community for individuals with special needs. We encourage every interested person with a disability to participate in our programs.

The Special Needs Department is supported in part by the Herman and Rebecca Fineberg Fund for People with Special Needs with additional support from the Edna and Larry Abelson Fund for Special Needs, the Raymond and Elizabeth Bloch Educational and Charitable Foundation, the Ralph Davidson Special Needs Fund, the Zola Hirsch Fund for Special Needs and the Robert Spiegel Memorial Endowment Fund.

Special Needs Newsletter

The JCC collaborates with the Agency for Jewish Learning, the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, Jewish Family and Children’s Service, Jewish Residential Services, and Friendship Circle to produce a regular newsletter for those interested in Inclusion in our Jewish community.
