Host Our Israeli Shlichim

We want you to make them feel at home!

We are welcoming Israeli staff in our community and want you to make them feel at home! We are looking for families to host for as little as 3 weeks or as many as all 10 weeks.

The dates are June 5 – August 18, 2024

JCC Day Camps are thrilled to be welcoming Israeli camp staff back to our community for the first time in 5 years.  We are asking community members who live in the city of Pittsburgh, South Hills or Fox Chapel to help make them feel at home.

These staff members will bring Israel to life at camp!  The Shlichim will be immersed in the camp community to help enhance our connection to Israel and will help to infuse Israeli culture into the JCC Day Camps experience while also being members of our general staff team. We are searching for families to host our Shlichim.  Hosting would a great opportunity to expose yourself and your family to Israeli culture and to build a lifelong friendships with these staff members. Host families are encouraged to immerse the shlichim in their lives and make them feel like part of the family!

The Shlichim come to JCC day camps through a partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, with funding support from the Federation’s Partnership2Gether program. Two of the Shlichim are from Karmiel/Misgav, Pittsburgh’s Partnership2Gether region in Israel.

Partnership2Gether has created a living bridge between the Pittsburgh Jewish Community and Karmiel and Misgav with numerous programs for almost 30 years.
